The Contra Bass Mouthpiece collection

We have made several contra bass mouthpieces on demand for some experienced players. Most of the time we offered a set of different mouthpieces. The result was that we determined the most interesting set of parameters for different purposes.

We defined different lines of mouthpieces:

Traditional or classic

• The tradition or classic model offers a classical contra bass clarinet sound.
  • Characteristics: 
    
    • no baffle
    • medium beak angle (24^o)
    • average table angle (5^o)
    • trapezoidal shaped throat
    • chamber with right side walls

The Smooth model

The smooth model is an extended model that enables a wide variations in sound over the whole range.

• Characteristics:
  • large round chamber mouthpiece
  • large beak angle (28^o)
  • large table angle (8^o)
  • short facing (28 mm)
  • medium baffle (8mm and 14^o)
  • Smooth round throat and rounded chamber side walls

The Accent model

• Loud
  • The model that enables loud and articulated sound. 
  • Characteristics
    • standard throat and side walls
    • long step baffle ( 22 mm and 22^o)
    • medium beak angle (26^o)

All mouthpieces are available in tipopening from 2.0 (4) to 3.5mm (9) and with facing lengths from 28 tot 32mm. On request special combinations can be made.
